Disclosure

We have created a lot of material that you can see, listen to, print and that helps you understand how aviation works.

Our tutorials are the most valuable material we have created because they explain in detail how each course works. It took us months to think, write and create them and we believe they are the added value that everyone expected from a site for the dissemination of aeronautical culture.

We guarantee that here you can really find everything you need to understand how civil aviation works.

L’aviazione, un mondo affascinante e complesso

Actuality

Lots of news, articles, discussions and insights that every aviator can use to grow and continue to improve.

Pills on EASA regulations, answers to any question and a lot of passion are just the tip of the iceberg of what we have to share with those who are already part of this incredible world.

Training

Flight schools need tools to work better and share passion 360 degrees.

To achieve this goal we have developed our management software, created to improve the organization’s performance, evaluate investments and better manage resources. If you need support to save time, we have created many downloadable pdfs that can be useful for building internal documentation.

Finally we have published some manuals that every flight school should have for itself and its students: Learn Before Flight can be used as a pre-study for every future student, saving a lot of time for schools, and Gain Before Flight is the basic training for the management of a school.

How do you become an airline pilot?

An airline pilot begins his career by obtaining a commercial pilot license for an airplane, the instrument rating, the twin-engine rating, and the multi-crew rating, and then must obtain the rating on the specific model used by the company he wants to be admitted to. There are many recruitment programs in which companies choose potential pilots to hire by making selections even before, during, or after obtaining the official pilot title. You enter as a co-pilot and then you can aspire to become a captain.

How do you become a helicopter rescue pilot?

A helicopter rescue pilot begins his career by obtaining a commercial helicopter pilot license. To become a member of the HEMS crew, you must have gained some work experience first. Hiring at aerial work or passenger transport companies will therefore be a fundamental step to access the application to become a helicopter rescue co-pilot. To become a commander, on the other hand, you must have a lot of experience as a rescue pilot (if you have had access as a co-pilot) or in firefighting or barycentric hook work (if you come from other experiences as a commander).

How many students do I need for the school to be profitable?

If I know how many flight hours I can fly a maximum of in a year with my fleet, that these total hours can repay all my fixed costs, I can calculate how many students I need to have with a simple calculation, but the difficult part is understanding how long it will take them to complete the course, because if I sell 10 courses of 200 hours I will have sold 2000 flight hours, but it is very different if they are flown in one year or in two years. Let’s leave the flow of considerations to be made on resources, the target of sales, the margins of the economy of scale and the flow of delivery to the chapter on the business model.

How much does it cost to maintain an aircraft?

The maintenance issue is perhaps the most difficult to take into consideration. An aircraft can have a calendar and hourly maintenance, ordinary or extraordinary. A school can have technicians and an internal certification or a contract with an external workshop. In any case, it is good to set aside at least 10% of the flight hour sales to perform maintenance. And if you have a fleet of multiple aircraft, create a risk fund to cover any parts to be replaced or extraordinary inspections to be performed.
