We have to be honest

With this not-so-aeronautical incipit we want to start this column of ours because we thought that we too “must be honest”: we have been working in the world of aviation for more than 20 years and we still believe we have not fully understood how it works.

Aviation, let’s face it, is a world as fascinating as it is complex and must be approached in every aspect like children who ardently desire to learn.

The information barriers to entry are very high, whether you want to become a pilot, technician, engineer, or even the entire administrative sector. The regulations are a tangle of national, European and international rules and every sector, from flight schools to airlines, from maintenance companies to manufacturers, must deal with compliance, safety, authority audits, tax complexity… thousands of pages of regulations, manuals, documents!

Nothing is left to chance, everything is extremely “procedural”, even if sometimes with contradictions, evaluations more from a lawyer than a technician, different visions of a world in which safety should be put first but sometimes bureaucracy gets the better of it.

Don’t let all this scare you. Aviation is still fascinating and with our website we will try to continue to offer a tool for spreading aeronautical culture with articles, interviews, tutorials and the wiki section.

We are ready to answer questions and continue to give “modest opinions”!

See you next time

Happy landings
